He said her house smells like soup

Oh my God it does! It's like Lipton landing!

At least, that's what my house smells like. I have been pickling and souping and I borrowed a pressure canner. It was quite the experience, let me tell you. I was kind of scared to actually do it, because jars and things can explode. Also, having a gas range makes it kind of difficult to regulate the temperature. It took me 40 minutes to get it regulated. I still have one and a half cases of jars. I have so much food to can. I need more tomatoes! This soup smelled so good. It will be great with some ground beef or turkey added, a little bay leaf, and some lentils. I'll also need to add a little water, because it is super concentrated.
Boyfriend and I have decided that in case of a nuclear winter, at least our little family will be fed. (for a while anyway)

I have been crazy stressed out lately. Marching band season stresses me out. So much. And beginning band. Oh dear. It never ends. "Can I play this?" and "Why can't I play DRUMS?" and I have kids that still do not have instruments and have no desire to play at all. Though I had my two biggest challenge children actually start behaving because they LOVE their horns. They've come in every day after school for the last two weeks.
I also have several kids in Jr/Sr high school band who are stepping it up majorly. Kids that last year, I was struggling to connect with. Not so much this year. That is going better, at least. There are still problems, like, learning to march and play at the same time, but I think I'm going to break out the Drill Sargent tomorrow. And I've found a new, hopefully easier way to teach drill.

I am trying to go see Straight No Chaser. I love these guys. They're amazing. This is by far my favorite song they do I'm Yours. Sorry, boyfriend. I love Wonderwall, too, but this one is my favorite of THEIRS. :) I also like Tainted Love. Oh, heck. I like the whole album.

I had praise band practice tonight, and choir practice. Both were kind of fun. I like playing my trumpet in the church. The acoustics are great. (much better than my office) I was also informed tonight that I get to start horse training lessons. I guess that's what you'd call them. Sometime, in whatever spare time I've got. Sweetness.

Here are some foodie pictures. Because I know you want them.

OMG! The pot isn't big enough!

Mmm. Looks yummy!

The finished product.

My closet full of goodness.

Here's to hoping Thursday goes a little better. Right now, I feel like crawling into a hole. I can't even bring myself to write drill.
